Talis Group is excited to partner with a well-established small-midsized leader in consumer brand product design and manufacturing. Our client has thrived in the consumer product space for more than 150 years, thanks to their strong customer focus and product innovation. They are hiring a Director of Supply Chain Operations to join their dynamic team. This is a new position for the company and an opportunity for the right local candidate to create the next generation of supply chain operations, including sourcing, warehousing, inventory management, and logistics. The position reports to the CEO and is a high-visibility role with growth potential. Candidate must be LOCAL with a purchasing background in a manufacturing environment. The position offers a competitive salary, a full benefit package, a hybrid work environment, and profit sharing. Salary: $130-$160k depending on experience.
Highlighted Duties:
  • Develop, implement, and lead comprehensive sourcing and procurement strategies for the organization. 
  • Identify and leverage opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and supplier relationships. 
  • Build strategic relationships with domestic and global supply chain partners. 
  • Lead supply chain-related negotiations to optimize value and reliability within cost, quality, delivery, and inventory targets across all supply chain partnerships. 
  • Assess, mitigate, and implement contingencies relating to supply chain risks, disruptions, market volatility, and geopolitical factors. 
  • Create a data-driven inventory model that meets sales demand and cost targets while optimizing turns and meeting customer demand. 
  • Lead warehouse, logistics, and distribution management to drive 100% OTD.
  • Oversee domestic and global scheduling activities for demand segmentation. 
  • Support “source & pack” operations in the management of finished goods inventories.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align supply chain activities with overall business & financial objectives.
  • Champion a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor performance and drive actionable initiatives aligned to business objectives.

Highlighted Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related. Master’s degree or advanced supply chain certification desired. 
  • Minimum 10 years of supply chain management experience with a minimum of 5 years of supply chain leadership experience. 
  • Experience developing and executing, cost-effective supply chain strategies within small – mid-size companies. 
  • Strong inventory management and modeling experience. 
  • Excellent negotiator within the supply chain environment. 
  • Domestic and global supply chain experience across sourcing, logistics, warehousing and inventory management 
  • Proven leadership ability to develop, mentor, and coach teams
  • Seeking a strong strategist with a “hands-on” tactical approach to achieve results
  • Must have excellent analytical and communication skills
