The Accounting Supervisor secures financial operations by monitoring and approving financial processing, reporting, and auditing with the accounting team, as well as supervise and maintain workflow in accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • Audit accounts payable invoices for proper account coding, supporting documentation, and payment authorization, as appropriate. Monitor and review accounts payable aging report and purchase order log for correctness and completeness. Review invoices on hold and ensure timely resolution and clearing for payment.
  • Ensure maintenance of vendor files and oversee issuance of sales tax resale certificates. Manage the selection of invoices for payment, check printing, and oversee release of payments (i.e., weekly check run).
  • Manage the accounts payable process so that all payment discounts are taken advantage of.
  • Monitor and review client billings and payment applications for accuracy, entirety, and timeliness, including the Billing Folder.
  • Review accounts receivable aging reports and oversee the AR team’s collection activities, particularly problem accounts.
  • Manage credit application process and make recommendations for extension of credit and appropriate limits and terms.
  • Ensure maintenance of customer files including credit, insurance certificates, and sales tax status. Review month-end reconciliations prepared by the AR team.
  • Alert Controller to all problems and issues relating to accounts payable and accounts receivable and offer recommendations for solutions when appropriate.
  • Perform any range of special projects associated with the tracking, recording, compilation, or reconciliation of financial information.
  • Continuously review accounts payable and accounts receivable process for opportunities in improvement.
  • Actively participate in: training, supervision, motivation, and evaluation of AP and AR team members, through annual performance reviews and coaching sessions. Provide resources to assist employees to achieve maximum performance.
  • Maintain discipline, investigate and resolve performance issues, document circumstances and recommend and implement disciplinary action as required.

Base Salary Range: $49,708.06/yr - $73,663.74/yr This represents the low and high end of the company's base salary range for this position. Actual base salary range may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience.
