The Accountant Supervisor is tasked with:

  • Monitoring debt service payment schedules to guarantee compliance with budgetary constraints.

  • Overseeing the preparation of financial reports, fiscal analyses, and reconciliations.
  • Developing and updating accounting procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Analyzing budgetary needs and recommending amendments as necessary.
  • Collaborating with auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Performing additional duties as required to support the department.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • Licensed Florida Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • A minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience.

Skills and Competencies
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • High level of accuracy in data entry and financial documentation.
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize, and supervise the work of others.
  • Capacity to work independently or collaboratively as needed.
  • Sound judgment in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in local or state government accounting.
  • Prior supervisory experience in an accounting role.
  • Adaptability to changing procedures and practices.
  • Familiarity with the organizational structure of government entities.
