The Foundation and Corporate Grants Administrator will be a key member of the Advancement Team overseeing research, engagement, solicitation and acknowledgement of institutions (foundations and trusts, corporations, religious organizations and some government agencies) through grant proposal writing, budgeting and reporting to advance the fundraising endeavors of YWCA Columbus. Assists with grants reporting and compliance with routine program related grants.

Research, cultivate and solicit institutional funders/prospects to advance the revenue goals
  • Identify and assess all potential grant funding opportunities from private and corporate foundations, civic groups, religious organizations, government entities and others as appropriate. Understand the metrics and data collected by the organization and evaluate data-related reporting requirements of grant applications for feasibility.
  • Serve as a member of the grants team to maintain the grants and data reporting calendar. Ensure all deadlines are met and compliance reports and data are collected by programs and submitted on time.
  • Synthesizes information into clear and concise proposals, reports and letters of inquiry, along with budget projections and accountability/evaluation requirements.
  • Manages a portfolio of existing corporate and other foundation funders—both public and private.
  • Develops and implements a strategy to renew and increase contributions from institutional donors.
  • Conducts stewardship efforts and builds solid relationships with funding sources; Tailor all acknowledgements to institutional donors to ensure a high degree of accuracy and personalization.
  • Analyzes, plans and provides forecasts for general operating and programmatic support from institutions.
  • Supports the CEO, Chief Advancement and Engagement Officer and Director of Donor Engagement by providing information on current institutional donors and prospective funders, as needed.
  • Works with all internal departments to gather information well ahead of proposal/reporting deadlines.
  • Assists Advancement team with fundraising activities, including preparing materials and scheduling meetings.

Maintain organizational giving fundraising calendar and gift records
  • Tracks all solicitations, reporting and other communications with institutional donors and prospects.
  • Creates queries, exports, dashboards, spread sheets, and other reports as needed.
  • Maintains deadline tracking charts and copies of fundraising correspondence with institutional donors.

Meetings and Events
  • Participates in donor meetings and tours with the Director of Donor Engagement and others; ensures timely follow-up on all efforts, including correspondence and other contacts with funders and prospects.
  • Participates in strategic planning and budget meetings of the Advancement Department.
  • Collaborates with the Advancement team to leverage events to engage institutional funders.

Education: College degree in Business, Human Services, Education, Accounting or related field required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience working in Raiser’s Edge/RE NXT or 3-5 years of database management required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be computer proficient and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The ability to work independently and with a diverse team of both internal and external customers, volunteers and staff. High degree of discretion and confidentiality.
