Estimator
Duties:
  • Prepare competitive fixed price quotations (both labor and material), for maritime ship repair/refit and industrial repair/refit.
  • Determine work procedures, crew size, machines/tooling, sub-contractors, material, and accessories required to accomplish work at a competitive price and acceptable margins.
  • Coordinate with Walashek staff and trades as needed to gather information and process requirements for the accomplishment of work.
  • Conduct ship-checks / site-checks as required to properly scope work.
  • Obtain accurate bill of material (BOM) quotations in a timely manner.
  • Maintain relationships with industry suppliers, vendors, and clients.
  • Maintain and update the contract pipeline in coordination with Management.
  • Build estimates and quotes using approved corporate policies.

Special Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, and technical manuals to machine parts and products according to specifications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High performance and a strong team player.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and schedule pressures with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to company values and safety program.
  • Ability to operate and update Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project.
