Assistant Preschool Teacher

Anchorage Cooperative Preschool is a small, play-based preschool program with a 50 year history of supporting students and families in Anchorage. We are seeking a creative, patient, and caring individual to join our team as an Assistant Teacher. They will implement the lessons designed by our lead teacher in a classroom of 10 students (3 and 4 year olds).

Preference given to candidates who have:
  • A Bachelors degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education or a CDA.
  • 2 years of teaching experience (special education experience a plus).
  • A creative and collaborative spirit.
  • Strong team working and communication skills with adults and children.
  • Familiarity and openness to play-based teaching styles.
  • Clear background check and 3 references.

We believe in respect, building social-emotional skills and fostering a love of learning through play. We have a beautiful outdoor and indoor classroom and supportive staff. We also offer continuing education reimbursement and paid time off. Class hours are 8:30 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Thursday and 9 AM - 2 PM on Fridays. We offer spring, summer and fall programs and thus are in school year-round.
