Job Details:
  • Job Title: Diesel / Heavy Equipment Mechanic
  • Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt.
  • Location: 3175 Lake Shore Rd. Buffalo, NY 14219
  • Reports To: Operations Manager
  • Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm or 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm. 
  • Compensation: $21-29/hr, based on experience & skills
  • Purpose: The purpose of this position is to service and repair on-road and off-road heavy equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on all diesel vehicles, and heavy equipment such as material handlers, loaders, excavators, forklifts, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all types of diesel engine machines.
  • Diagnose and repair heavy machinery (excavators, forklifts, skid steers).
  • Repair, replace, recondition, disassemble, weld, and examine parts and engines.
  • Maintain inventory of tools and supplies.
  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
  • Comply with all company safety measures and government regulations.
  • Communicate with drivers and customers with a professional attitude.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years diesel mechanic experience.
  • A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (over 50 pounds).
  • Squat and kneel.
  • Bend and twist as appropriate.
  • Sit/Stand for long periods at a time.
