Discover a future with us where your contributions truly make a difference. Lange Companies is currently looking for a Food Safety Compliance Coordinator to join our Operations Team. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring that all food products meet the highest safety and quality standards. As a Food Safety Compliance Coordinator, you will develop and implement food safety programs, manage vendor compliance, and perform thorough documentation reviews. While this role requires regular communication with various departments, it is primarily office-based, focusing on the coordination and oversight of food safety procedures rather than conducting field inspections. You will also stay up to date with industry regulations and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal food safety laws.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and respond to incoming correspondence through a designated mailbox, maintaining timely communication with suppliers, shippers, and other stakeholders in the food and safety industry.
  • Gather and organize food safety and compliance paperwork for both new and existing growers and suppliers.
  • Address and fulfill customer requests for food safety and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure and collect organic certification documents for all organic sales company-wide.
  • Collaborate with organic certifiers to uphold compliance standards.
  • Utilize food safety and organic databases, with a focus on Azzule, to manage documentation.
  • Oversee multiple customer portals for food safety and general document compliance.
  • Handle onboarding paperwork for new customers and annual renewal documents for existing customers, including Food Safety documentation, questionnaires, Letters of Guarantee, Indemnity Agreements, W-9s, and COIs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Certificate of Insurance requests.
  • Work with Azzule on Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP) for products imported by Lange Companies International, Inc.
  • Stay updated on the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and communicate relevant changes to the Food Safety team and Corporate.
  • Keep up with current regulations and implement procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Assist with other projects and duties as assigned by the company.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • AA/AS degree in Agriculture, Business, Compliance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize tasks efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Familiarity with and practical experience using the Azzule platform.
  • Proficiency in more than one language.
  • Experience with USDA-NOP (National Organic Program) and FDA-FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act).

Typical Education/Experience:

Advanced degree (e.g. Associate, Bachelor, etc.) in Business, Compliance, Accounting, or a related field required.
