Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of others? As a Senior Donation Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in managing tissue and eye donation referrals, assessing donor suitability, and providing support to donor families. Your compassionate approach and expertise will ensure that every interaction is handled with care and professionalism. This job will report to our Omaha, NE office with a remote option for candidates with donation coordination experience who live in Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for tissue donation inquiries, providing expert knowledge and training to junior staff to handle inquiries with compassion and professionalism.
  • Conduct in-depth evaluations of donors' medical histories, ensuring compliance with eligibility criteria and regulatory standards.
  • Engage with potential donor families by phone, advocating for transplant recipients and providing support through compassionate and sensitive interactions.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
  • Audit recordings and information in the organization's database, ensuring compliance with data management policies and standards.
  • Lead collaboration efforts with healthcare partners and external agencies, ensuring efficient coordination of donation efforts and support services.
  • Train and mentor employees to enhance compliance, authorization rates, and understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Uphold and promote a culture of excellence and compliance with quality assurance standards.
  • Provide education and support to law enforcement officers, coroners, and medical staff regarding tissue donation procedures and ethical considerations.
  • Foster a positive and supportive workplace culture, promoting teamwork, empathy, and self-care among staff.

Skills:
  • Clear communication skills to report audit findings, provide feedback, and liaise between departments and external agencies.
  • Strong analytical abilities to interpret complex data and troubleshoot issues during the auditing process.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring audits are completed on schedule.
  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a team, with strong relationship management and problem-solving skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are critical for regulatory compliance and maintaining process integrity.

Work Schedule:
  • Required 40 hours per week in varying flexible shifts to meet the team's needs.
  • Day/Night Rotation: Rotate between day and night shifts to ensure availability to all team members.
  • Participation: Attend departmental meetings, organizational meetings, educational activities, quality assurance initiatives, and required training as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Associate degree in health sciences, nursing, social work, or public health (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience in settings such as EMT, Paramedic, RN, or LPN.
  • Proficiency in conducting thorough audits, handling paperwork, and data entry.
  • Familiarity with EMR usage (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, internal EMR systems) preferred.
  • Fundamental understanding of disease processes and medical terminology.
  • Sensitivity and understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds and traditions, particularly in the context of tissue donation decisions.
