  • Experience cooking for large groups, a certificate in food-preparation training preferred a desire to work with older adults.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Identify and report food and supplies needed for next week's menu.
  • Assist in receiving, rotation, and storage of products.

Food Preparation and Dining Service responsibilities include:
  • Prepare food in an attractive and safe manner while maintaining infection control procedures.
  • Serve food on time and in a pleasant manner.
  • Capable of communicating effectively with fellow team members and the dietary manager in regard to menu changes, malfunctioning kitchen equipment, special food events, etc.
  • Assist in planning special food events for residents and or staff members.
  • Ensure proper storage and or handling of food in accordance with infection control standards.

Qualifications:
  • A good candidate must be flexible with schedule, honest, dependable, and willing to work effectively within a team.
  • Previous food service experience is a must.
  • Preferred previous assisted living or nursing facility type cooking experience preferred.
  • Must be knowledgeable of safe cooking and food handling procedures, OSHA standards, and operation of kitchen appliances.
