JOIN A RAPIDLY EXPANDING TEAM AS A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT INTERN AT A GROWING DIGITAL MARKETING AGENCY

Tree Ring Digital, a top-ranked digital marketing agency based in Denver, CO, is in search of a skilled, self-driven, and proactive digital marketing intern to become a valuable member of our expanding and cooperative team. We are looking for an individual capable of supporting the business development team through tasks such as scheduling meetings to talk partnerships and collaborations, researching businesses for development outreach, helping with business development admin tasks, and learning the ins and outs of finding new business at a marketing agency. The ideal candidate should possess the agility to seamlessly transition between projects, adapting to our dynamic and fast-paced work environment..

About our dream intern:
This individual is excited to learn more about business development at a marketing agency and how to grow a book of business through research and strategy. This candidate will help with client research, draft and send business development outreach emails, make follow-up phone calls, and help with the admin and organization of business development. In a dynamic project environment, the candidate will gain exposure to various marketing and business development tactics while collaborating with the team on deliverables and meeting sales goals. 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
Managing multiple projects at one time, providing assistance in business development outreach and research, helping with business development outreach, strategizing business development tactics, and organizing tasks, meeting notes, and project status updates.

Experience with:
Customer service, business development, sales, and new business outreach.

Requirements, Skills, Abilities, Education:
  • Ability to communicate efficiently to the rest of the marketing team 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills (phone, email, and face-to-face)
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Google Drive, and Dropbox
  • Strong organizational, analytical, prioritization, and decision-making skills
  • Passion for technology and all things digital – trends vs. fads, algorithm changes, emerging technologies and if/when/how to test and adopt new platforms, tactics and trends
  • High level of:
    • Attention to detail (including accurate data entry skills)
    • Self-motivation
    • Ability to prioritize, manage time, switch gears, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Think several steps ahead and execute tasks without (or before) being given direction (once trained)
    • Take work direction well & follow specific processes and procedures (once taught)
    • Work well independently, as well as in a collaborative environment
    • Utilize the correct tools, resources, and team members to find answers to client questions
    • Learn quickly

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Basic knowledge/experience with:
    • Business development email structure.
    • The Google Suite 
    • EXCEL and spreadsheets
    • CRM (Insightly), GSuite, Office 365, Slack, QuickBooks, WordPress, 1Password & Dropbox

What We Offer the Right Candidate:
$20-22/hour DOE

This offers a part-time remote work setting, with standard hours set for Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5:30 pm, providing flexibility as needed. We encourage a commitment of at least 12 hours weekly for interns to derive maximum benefits from the experience. While we are open to training the right candidate in certain aspects of the role, we prefer individuals who possess a genuine appreciation for the art of business development and sales and demonstrate outstanding communication skills with the team.
