Development & Marketing Coordinator

The Position:

The Development & Marketing Coordinator under the Development Director's direction will assist in daily operations, special projects, and annual or pop-up events. The CDA will focus on details and collaborate with their team, committee, board, and community members in a fast-paced ever-changing environment.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently obtaining a degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in marketing and customer relations.

Additional Requisites:
  • A self-directed, organized, results-driven individual with strong communication skills.
  • Outgoing, creative, diplomatic, and flexible with an interest in event planning and philanthropy.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Have the capability to attend after-hours fundraising events and meetings.
  • Fluency in social media marketing; heightened skills in Facebook content management, and possess an active Facebook profile.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and professionalism.
  • Work: around moderate noise, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities:
  • Become well-versed in YWCA Charleston’s mission and programs to promote the organization’s outcomes that motivate and engage donors.
  • Maintain accurate donor and prospect information and create reports in the DonorPerfect database.
  • Ensure timely entry of gifts, production of acknowledgment letters, and archiving of collateral.
  • Timely conduct donor appreciation outreach.
  • Support development campaigns and events by attending committee meetings, recording minutes, serving as committee liaison for attendance tracking and post-meeting follow-up, managing financial spreadsheets, tracking outreach, and assisting the director with donor prospecting.
  • Provide on-site support for all YWCA events related to development and marketing activities.
  • Assist with large mailings and poster placements.
  • Work with the Marketing Specialist to assist with social media content.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation: $13.00 to $15.00 Hourly.
