Openwork is currently assisting a local client in their search to fill a Human Resources Assistant job in Smyrna. As a Human Resources Assistant you will act as point of contact for Temporary Staffing Agencies for all temporary worker related issues. Effectively support daily Human Resources Department functions and maintain personnel records. Triage employee requests as they come into HR; determine who is
available or if an appointment should be made for a later time, based on the urgency of the employee’s needs and the department’s

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):Organizational Structure/Compensation:
  • Review, verify and prepare temporary agency invoices weekly.
  • Coordinate and conduct random drug and alcohol screenings for company Personnel and temporary workers, as needed.
  • On a daily or as needed basis, uses discretion and independent judgment in utilizing a company credit card to make
purchases for the department
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings.
  • Process & Maintain Temporary Worker Timecards.
Employee Record Maintenance:
  • Maintain HR file room – Active, terminated, temporary workers, medical, 401K, training files, etc.
  • Temporary worker end of assignment – notify HRA-Triage Receptionist to deactivate & shred badge, send out change of
employment status email, and pull file and upload to J: Drive.
  • Prepare & Input all new hire paperwork for temporary workers and update appropriate systems.
  • Maintain reportable spreadsheet for temporary worker tracking.
  • Maintain confidential personnel files and personnel actions.
Recruitment /New Hire Process:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with temporary agencies.
  • Act as point of contact for Temporary Staffing Agencies for all temporary worker related issues.
  • Ensure temporary worker new hire paperwork is completed and accurate for employment in the HRIS system
Monthly / Annual Audits:
  • Conduct Annual audit – temporary agency contract information (track contract renewals).
Support:
  • Support employees with any questions and needs regarding company policies, benefits, compensation, etc.
  • Maintain weekly HC report for Human Resources Director
  • Raffle Employee Appreciation rewards and coordinate announcement (Braves tickets, birthday tickets, etc.)
  • Order Baby Blankets for new company parent(s)
  • Order Flowers when needed
  • Maintain stock levels in HR supply room.
  • Order supplies for HR department, when needed
  • Track and distribute check-in
Qualifications/Job Requirements:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below
  • are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform essential duties. Knowledge of multiple
  • Human Resources disciplines, including knowledge of federal and state employment and benefit laws. Must have strong impersonal,
  • and communication skills.
  • Understanding the importance of employee and company confidentiality. Must have the ability to use discretion and independent
  • judgment to analyze data and provide recommendations. Excellent oral, written, listening, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Clerical related experience required.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Some college; 1-3 years of related experience and/or training is preferred
  • Some knowledge/familiarity of federal and state regulations to include COBRA,
  • ERISA, FMLA and related state and federal regulations
  • Proficient in MS AX Dynamics, Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Good impersonal and interpersonal (verbal and written) communications skills
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task numerous responsibilities
  • Ability to identify problems
  • Good attention to detail

Position Type:
This is a full-time and in-person position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but may require some
work outside of these hours. Pay rate is $21/hr
