Front Desk Attendant

Job Summary:Front Desk staff greets and welcomes customers as they enter the facility and provides them with general information regarding prices, programs, policies and procedures and the location of various offices and services within the facility. This position is also responsible for answering incoming telephone calls and routing calls to proper departments. Front Desk staff also sells tickets for buckets of golf balls; snack bar items and processes Front Desk cash or credit card for goods and services. Front Desk staff must have the ability to work effectively with minimal direct supervision and make competent decisions that are consistent with facility policies and procedures. Work is reviewed in terms of guest and visitor interaction/satisfaction, knowledge of facilities, activities, and programs, and the ability to interact and communicate with people. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Promote the Columbia Super Range, Columbia Athletic Clubs facilities, programs, and lessons in keeping with our mission statement and core values.
- Excellent customer service is essential - it is our trademark and the primary responsibility of all Columbia Super Range employees. Cordially greet members and visitors as they enter the facility.
- Operate the computer access system and input general information as needed to verify membership status and record facility usage information.
- Schedules lessons in person and via the telephone for lessons, programs, and recreational events.
- Answers incoming telephone calls and provides general information as necessary. Routes call as necessary to the appropriate staff member. When called upon, accurately records written messages for staff members and assures that these messages are delivered in a timely manner.
- Responds to emergency situations throughout the facility. (These may require CPR or First Aid.)
Duties:
- Keeping the work area clean & tidy at all times.
- Stocking food and beverage items as necessary.
- Ensuring the safe keeping of cash flow.
- Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.
- Charge the appropriate fees for services rendered.
- Accurately operates cash register to process cash and charge transactions.
- Other duties as assigned.
