The Payroll and Human Resource Specialist performs human resources-related duties at the professional level to implement daily activities and provide excellent service to internal and external employees in assigned areas, including but not limited to recruitment/selection, compensation, HRIS, and implementation of policies and procedures by the mission, core values, and purposes of Promotion Plus Sign Co., Inc. 
The Payroll and Human Resource Specialist must possess the following skills and attributes: strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people at all levels of an organization. Practical oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of office administration procedures with an ability to be detail-oriented and highly organized. Must have a high skill level in handling sensitive and confidential situations/information and demonstrate the ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Good time management skills, strong customer service focus, and great team player. Working knowledge and experience with HRIS, internet sourcing, and Microsoft Office, including intermediate skills with Excel.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Processing of biweekly payroll for 65+ employees 
  • Set up and maintain employees in QuickBooks and Paylocity
  • EDD claims, wage garnishments, EDD benefit audits 
  • Learns all aspects of basic payroll and benefits backup 
  • Maintain employee personnel and timesheet files 
  • Maintain I-9 files, and work authorization documents 
  • Assist in the preparation of employee write-up and termination
  • Termination process/final check preparation. Witness an exit interview when needed. 
  • PAN Form entry into the master calendar shared with Vice President, approval process and distribution of employee’s copy promptly 
  • Creates and maintains Department Policy/Procedure 
  • Incident Reporting for company vehicles, employee injury, and/or on-job-site incidents:
  • Prepares and submits incident reports to the Vice President
  • Administers Insurance claims and Workers' Compensation claims with the current carrier
  • Liaison between all party's claims regarding incidents and Promotion Plus until the case is closed
  • Maintain installation and warehouse safety certification spreadsheet
  • Assist in the preparation of the Safety Certification Meeting
  • ISN Network gathering of data to submit for approval by Executive Administrative Assistance
  • Assist in weekly travel hotel bookings, credit card authorization forms, folder preparation, and check requests
