We have an immediate opening for a Claims Specialist at our Little Canada, MN office.  

SUMMARY:The Claims Specialist is responsible for supporting Safety/Operations performing administrative duties as required by the Claims Manager.

Prior insurance (Auto/GL/WC) experience is a plus 

Primary Responsibilities Include:
  • Assisting the Claims Manager with claims files and loss reporting.
  • Receiving first reports of incident on general liability, injury, and auto claims.
  • Requesting investigation documentation from Foremen and Supervisors.
  • Requesting Police reports.
  • Claims file data input.
  • Assisting with providing the Operations Group and clients with periodic Loss Reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Exemplary communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work with field employees on investigations.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to effectively develop strong working relationships.
  • Ability to share expertise with others and continually build their knowledge and skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of computers and Windows based software and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications that are employed to improve process and efficiency.
  • Respond promptly to departmental needs and resolve all issues satisfactorily.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to build a positive team spirit.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in everything you do.

Education:
  • High School diploma required, post-secondary preferred. An equivalent combination of experience and training will be considered.  
Language Skills:
  • English required - Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group situation.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds for departmental deliveries.
  • Close vision is required for some functions and distance and peripheral vision is required for safety.
Work Environment:
  • Typical office environment.
  • Employee may be subjected to outside weather conditions during field training or investigation.
  • Employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat and risk of electric shock and vibration.
  • The noise level in the outdoor work environment can often be loud.
  • The employee may be exposed to slow or fast-moving traffic in the outdoor work environment.
Other Conditions:
  • Adhere to all company policies, rules and regulations as stated in the Company Employee Handbook and Safety Manual.
  • Be available for occasional weekly shifts of emergency after-hours and emergency weekend on-call duties.
  • May require occasional overnight travel to Q3 locations and perspective locations. 
  • Must represent self and company in a professional, courteous and respectful manner when dealing with customers, vendors, employees and the public.
