An HVAC Distribution company on the North Side of San Antonio is looking for an experienced Receiving Clerk with a great work ethic and a "can-do" attitude. This is a long-term career opportunity with full-time benefits. The ideal candidate will receive, store, ship, and distribute heating and air conditioning parts, supplies, materials, tools, equipment, and products. The Receiving Clerk
MUST HAVE FORKLIFT EXPERIENCE. Primary Responsibilities:
- Reads production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
- Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items as necessary.
- Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department
- Straightens work area and rotates/pulls merchandise forward for easy and accurate access
- Mark materials with identifying information
- Open bales, crates, and other containers
- Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed
- Weighs or counts items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standard
- Conducts inventory and maintains inventory records
- Clean-up and general housekeeping are required which may include dusting the area and merchandise, sweeping, mopping, and removing boxes and clutter from the work area
Requirements:
- Experience/knowledge of the HVAC industry or products preferred, but not required.
- At Least 1 YEAR of Forklift Experience.
- High school diploma or equivalency (GED); or one-month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work under pressure within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Must be able to stand and walk the entire scheduled shift and also bend frequently, twist, reach, stretch, kneel, squat, push, pull, and lift up items that may weigh up to 75 pounds. The role also regularly to talk or hear; read and identify numbers for accurate order filling and receiving of material, payment processing, etc. The employee is regularly required to apply sound reasoning and logic in performing daily tasks.
- Must be able to pass background check and drug screen and possess a valid driver’s license
Schedule:
- Monday- Friday
- 8 am-5 pm
Starting Pay Rate:
- $15-$16/hr - based on experience and attendance/performance.
