Position Summary:
The Citrus Category Manager is responsible for the overall management of the citrus product category, including product selection, pricing, promotion, and inventory management. The role involves analyzing market trends, developing strategies to increase market share, and ensuring the category meets sales and profitability targets. The Category Manager will work closely with suppliers, sales teams, and other internal departments to optimize the product mix and drive growth in the citrus category.

Key Responsibilities:
Category Strategy & Management:
  • Develop and implement category management strategies for citrus products to achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitive positioning.
  • Select and manage the product assortment, ensuring it meets customer demand and company standards.

Supplier & Vendor Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with citrus suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to product quality, delivery, or cost.

Pricing & Promotion:
  • Develop and manage pricing strategies to ensure competitive positioning while maximizing profitability.
  • Plan and execute promotional activities, including discounts, special offers, and marketing campaigns.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of promotions and adjust strategies as needed.

Inventory & Supply Chain Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock without overstocking.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely and efficient product delivery.
  • Implement inventory control measures to reduce waste and spoilage.

Sales & Performance Analysis:
  • Track and analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports on category performance, including sales, margin, and profitability.
  • Develop action plans based on performance analysis to drive category growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with marketing, sales, and merchandising teams to align category strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to forecast demand and plan for seasonal variations.
  • Support the training of sales teams on product knowledge and category insights.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in category management, preferably in the food or agricultural industry.
  • Strong understanding of the citrus market, including trends, competitors, and customer preferences.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market research.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and experience with category management software/tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
