We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Director of Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) to lead our DTC efforts. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing the overall strategy, merchandising, site experience, marketing activation, and planning for our online channels, driving growth and ensuring a seamless customer journey. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Ecommerce and retail, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Leadership:
    Develop and execute a comprehensive DTC strategy that aligns with Conair’s overall business objectives and enhances the brand’s position in the market.
    Analyze market trends and consumer insights to inform strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities within the DTC space.
    Lead a diverse team in an evolving and matrixed, multi-brand environment. Ensure the team is functioning efficiently and deliverables are met regarding development, maintenance, marketing, and merchandising of sites for all brands in the division.
  2. Merchandising and Site Experience Oversight:
    Lead the merchandising strategy, including product selection, pricing, and promotions, to maximize sales and margin performance.
    Collaborate with product development and marketing teams to align product launches with DTC goals and ensure effective inventory management.
    Oversee the design and functionality of the DTC website to ensure an engaging, user-friendly experience that drives conversions and customer loyalty.
    Implement best practices for web navigation, search functionality, and site optimization to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
    Create, monitor, and oversee the DTC budget and ensure gross margin, SG&A, and operating profit targets are met/exceeded.
    Establish operating rhythm and track against clear KPIs, driving action and accountability across the enterprise to deliver the needed outcomes.
  3. Marketing Activation:
    Execute integrated marketing campaigns that drive traffic, engage customers, and increase brand awareness across digital channels including email, social media, and paid advertising.
    Partner with the brand marketing team to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with broader marketing initiatives.
  4. Planning and Analytics:
    Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of DTC initiatives and make informed recommendations for continuous improvement.
    Prepare and present regular reports to executive leadership on DTC performance, highlighting key insights, trends, and action plans.
    Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing DTC team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
    Set clear performance objectives and provide ongoing feedback to ensure team members are aligned with departmental goals and professional growth.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Collaborate closely with various teams, including sales, supply chain, finance, and customer service, to ensure a cohesive approach to DTC operations and strategy execution.
    Serve as the primary liaison between the DTC team and other departments to promote alignment and shared objectives.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  2. 10+ years of experience in Ecommerce or direct-to-consumer roles, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership position.
  3. Proven experience in strategy development, merchandising, marketing, and online customer experience within a consumer goods or retail environment.
  4. Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving.
  5. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  7. Passion for consumer trends and a deep understanding of the DTC landscape.
