This position will drive product strategy and innovation through the assessment of new product opportunities, design and execution of prioritized testing, and ROI calculation for current and potential investments. Product management requires strong collaboration across all facets of the Conferences leadership team.
You will be responsible for leading our design efforts that help define the vision, product strategy, and user experience of new products. - Prepare and deliver updates to senior leadership that synthesize program progress and recommendations.
- Drive Sales & stakeholder feedback collection efforts through data analysis, quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to drive improvements to strategies.
- Conduct & present strategic analysis to facilitate decision-making for Gartner’s Global Conferences leadership team, across areas such as Product growth and retention, Product profitability, and Product client ratings from both Exhibitors and Conference attendees.
- Lead a team of both direct reports and virtual team members with a sense of urgency and high accountability.
- Work on a variety of cross-functional initiatives, including long-range planning efforts.
Essential must-have skills
- You are a creative, customer-obsessed thinker who loves solving customer problems.
- You have a knack for identifying acute customer pain points and translating those into specific solutions, even when those pain points are articulated as broad concepts.
- Track record of delivering products and programs to market that delight customers and solve their problems, that scale easily and that generate strong profits and growth.
- Experience with market research, market opportunity sizing, market segmentation, pricing, creating value proposition, communication and training etc.
- Commercial acumen and experience in working with sales; building business cases and getting buy-in from senior leadership.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative business analytics, including ability to turn quantitative analysis into actionable recommendations with measurable business impact.
- Ability to lead/influence cross-functional teams across all levels of the organization and work collaboratively in a matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; Experience with presenting to senior executives.
- Ability to coach/mentor team members and build a work culture that welcomes different points of view that are well thought out in a constructive way that makes every decision better.
- A bias for action, including balancing tradeoffs, a willingness to roll up their sleeves and do what it takes to get things done.
- Ability to work in a culture that thrives on feedback and seeks opportunities to stretch outside comfort zone.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred 10-12 years of progressive business experience, 7+ years of product strategy / product management experience.
