Monomoy Advisors is looking for an entrepreneurial, highly motivated, experienced, and consultative professional to join our growing team as a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to support our client(s). As a key member of the team, this individual will oversee client financial activities, including being responsible for the finance and accounting professionals who perform operational functions, and serve in a strategic advisory role for the CEO and C-suite peers with our client(s).
In this highly visible role, the candidate will have both day-to-day and ongoing impact on company operations, helping the Company to analyze, strategize, and grow their financial position. This seasoned strategist has to not only understand current accounting practices and trends, but also prove experience raising capital and adapt to change – both in growing and downsizing. As a member of our Company’s senior management, he or she will be comfortable in a leadership role that demands clear communication and presentation skills.
This position entails broad responsibility across corporate and operational financial and accounting functions, directing functions such as: accounting, annual audits, customer accounting support, tax compliance, managing an ERP implementation, monthly close processes, monthly reporting, forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, business partnering, modeling, return on investment analysis and other value-added financial analysis. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires someone who is able to support both high-level complex accounting and finance responsibilities as well as not being afraid to dive into the details on a day-to-day basis.

In This Opportunity, Your Main Responsibilities Will Include
- Develop financial well-being of the organization by providing financial projections and accounting services, prepare growth plans, and direct staff.
- Accomplish finance human resource strategies by determining accountabilities; communicate and enforce values, policies, and procedures; implement recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; plan, monitor, appraise, and review job contributions; and plan and review compensation strategies.
- Develop finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction and establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
- Establish finance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establish critical measurements; determine production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; design systems; accumulate resources; resolve problems; and implement change.
- Develop organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities.
- Project acquisition and expansion prospects.
- Analyze organization operations; identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement; and accumulate capital to fund expansion.
- Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
- Maximize return on investment funds by identifying investment opportunities and maintaining relationships with the investment community.
- Report financial status by developing forecasts, report results, analyzing variances, and developing improvements.
- Update job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in education opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Accomplish finance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Minimum Experience, Education, and Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Must thrive in a fast-paced, self-starting, growing, and innovative environment where agility, resourcefulness, and resiliency skills are key. Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to develop important relationships with client stakeholders.
- Experience or eagerness to be part of a growing start-up consulting environment strongly preferred.
- Excellent organization, problem-solving and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and track record of balancing priorities to meet deadlines.
- Solid understanding of P&L, Cash Flow, and Balance Sheet statements and their drivers.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and presentation skills.
- Master’s degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance.
- 5+ years’ experience in an executive leadership position.
- Strong leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
- Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning.
- Working knowledge of raising capital beyond traditional lines of credit.
- Executive experience with SaaS business models and their associated revenue recognition is strongly preferred.
- CPA and/or CMA preferred.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions and investor relations preferred.
Travel: Minimal travel throughout the U.S. may be required.
