Duration: Full-time, long-term contract (renewable based on performance)

About Climate Resilience for All (CRA):

Launched in October 2023, Climate Resilience for All (CRA) is a global NGO dedicated to protecting the health and livelihoods of women and vulnerable communities from extreme heat. CRA is fiscally sponsored by the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP) and operates with a commitment to addressing climate adaptation through an inclusive, gender-focused lens.

Position overview:

CRA is seeking an experienced Communications Manager who is passionate about climate resilience and gender equality. The Communications Manager will play a key role in developing and executing our communications strategy across multiple channels to raise awareness, engage supporters, and elevate the organization’s mission and presence. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for social impact and strong communication skills, capable of handling a variety of tasks—from managing social media to writing press releases and creating content for awareness and fundraising campaigns.

This is a full-time position structured as a long-term contract, offering flexibility and renewal opportunities as the organization grows. The ideal candidate will have approximately 5+ years of experience in communications, ideally within the nonprofit or climate sector, aligning with the offered salary range.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Communications: Implement effective communication strategies, ensuring alignment with CRA’s mission, values, and climate-resilience goals.
  • Content Creation & Editing: Write, edit, and distribute content, including press releases, blog posts, newsletters, presentations, and social media posts.

o  Create compelling content for digital platforms (website, social media, email marketing) to engage supporters and increase visibility.

o  Oversee content calendar and ensure timely delivery of communications.

  • Graphic Design & Layout: Support graphic design needs, including creating visuals for reports, social media, and presentations using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
  • Website Management: Edit, update, and manage CRA’s website to ensure current and impactful messaging.
  • Social Media Management:

o  Manage and grow the organization’s social media presence across platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, X).

o  Engage with followers, respond to inquiries, and create interactive content that drives engagement.

o  Track and analyze social media metrics to assess performance and optimize strategies.

  • Media Relations & Outreach:

o Cultivate and maintain relationships with local, national, and international media outlets, and journalists.

o  Support media events, and opportunities to secure coverage for the organization.

o  Monitor media coverage and track public relations results to measure impact.

  • Project Coordination: Manage communication projects, timelines, and production workflows to ensure timely, quality deliverables.
  • Brand Development: Contribute to the evolution of CRA’s brand identity, visual guidelines, and storytelling approaches.

Experience:

  • Required: At least 5 years of experience in communications, digital media, or a related field, preferably in the nonprofit or climate resilience sector.
  • Digital Proficiency: Demonstrated skills in graphic design, social media management, and digital content production using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress).
  • Knowledge of Climate Issues: A working understanding of climate resilience, gender equality, or related fields is highly desired.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Environmental Studies, International Development, or a related field.
  • International Experience: Proven ability to adapt communication strategies to diverse, international contexts.
  • Optimistic Attitude: Positive, solution-oriented mindset that fosters collaboration and resilience.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft messages that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Organizational Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently and as part of a remote team.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic, remote team environment with flexible hours.

Contract Details:

This role is structured as a long-term contract to provide greater flexibility and adaptability as CRA grows. CRA does not yet offer traditional benefits under this contract but plans to do so in the near future as our organization expands.
