We are looking to hire a skilled E-Commerce Financial/Accounting Controller & Bookkeeper acting in hybrid role as internal head of accounting, finance, bookkeeping, and administrative and clerical tasks. Position is part-time (20 hours / week).


The Financial Controller works closely with and reports directly to the founders of the company.


Responsibilities:


Analysis, control and daily auditing of E-commerce multi-channel sales & revenue sources, including reconciliation of fees, charges and remittances as originated from all platforms.

General Bookkeeping, including but not limited to overseeing the company's financial data and general ledger, and facilitating of compliance by recording and maintaining the company's financial transactions, and providing monthly reporting.

Maintenance of accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and appropriately, using Accrual Accounting methods.

Analysis and reconciliation of bank/credit-card statements and cash book.

Performing month-end closings and preparation of Trial Balances, Final Accounts and financial statements to assist external accountants/CPAs.

Management of Multi-State Sales Tax management, including ongoing tracking, calculation, filing and remittance.

Assistance and aiding with planning and preparation of records for annual filing of Federal Corporate Business Taxes.

Tracking and reconciliation of accounts with main suppliers and providers of physical goods, and overseas manufacturing

Support with inventory management, by providing proper financial valuation and impact assessment of inventory, and its planning, forecasting, P.O. preparation, control of received goods, and reconciliation of billing and invoicing with main vendors and suppliers of physical goods.

Financial analysis and tracking of payroll accounts.

Establish accounting procedures and schedules that will help the team to run more effectively in terms of clerical and administrative functionality.

Oversight as fractional CFO to support and guide company's growth.


Qualifications:


- Proven experience with E-commerce oriented bookkeeping and Accrual accounting.

- Deep and solid understanding of financial reporting environments of e-commerce selling channels and payment platforms like Shopify, Amazon Seller, PayPal, Global-E, FB Shop, TikTok Shop, Affirm, Stripe, Sezzle, AfterPay, etc.

- Proficiency using Quickbooks online and main e-commerce related cloud-based tools for financial and accounting tracking, proper conciliation, and reporting (e.g: A2X, Avalara, ADP Run, Gusto, Final Inventory, etc.)

- Technology savvy and comfortable with using a variety of accounting systems, including MS Office, G-Suite, or ERP tools.

- Preparation of clear reports with accurate insights and actionable next steps.

- Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field (Preferred).

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Highly organized, with attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive decision-making.

- Manage and maintain relationships with key vendors, platforms, and technology partners.

- Keep up with current best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies in e-commerce-oriented accounting.

- Fluency in verbal English, bilingual Spanish a plus.
