Basic Function

Requirements
- Fluency in Spanish is required (reading, writing and translating).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite software and advanced computer and technical skills. Functional experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Outstanding organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to exercise a high level of discretion, confidentiality, and professional integrity.
- A demonstrated track record of success in fast-paced work environments with the ability to work efficiently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills mirrored with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with leadership, staff, and members.
- Experience composing grammatically correct correspondence, and editing drafts to correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to the organization’s mission.
- Works efficiently and meets all deadlines.
- Ability to interact and work effectively with union members and staff
SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION
• Coordinate, support, and prepare for events and meetings, including assisting with meeting logistics and preparing and disseminating agendas and meeting materials.
• Assist with and manage the day-to-day operations and logistics of the department. Maintain an organized system of tracking, monitoring, and prioritizing tasks and projects and manage the internal content calendar.
• Draft correspondence, announcements, and other written materials and ensure the proper formatting of all written materials. Proofread all written materials disseminated by the department.
• Respond to written and verbal inquiries in a timely and accurate manner, as directed. Send correspondence and department communications.
• Translate written materials from English to Spanish.
• Maintain effective filing systems.
• Act as a liaison between the Communications Department and other departments and affiliates of the organization. • Manage calendars, schedules, and travel. Assist with the submission of expenses and processing of invoices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Work requires a general educational background normally equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.

Environment – Office environment; constant interruptions
Physical Abilities –Keyboarding to enter data into a computer terminal for extended periods of time; Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard; Kneeling or crouching, reaching overhead, above shoulders, and horizontally and bending at the waist to store and retrieve files; Hearing and speaking to exchange information; Seeing to read various materials; Lifting light objects.
