Vice President – DPC Transformation

The Vice President – DPC Transformation role requires a leader who can set a global cross-brand strategy to enable the technology used to design and commercialize a dynamic mix of products in multiple categories across the globe. This role will focus on partnering with Chief Design and Product Officers across the brands and their teams, the lead of the Global Supply Chain Platforms, and leaders across Global Product Supply, Materials and Quality to lay out the technology strategy and vision that will lead to the rapid design and visualization of new products using digital tools, ensuring a seamless process between the design, merchandising and supply chain teams responsible for bringing new products to market. The Vice President of DPC Transformation will work across the brands and corporate functions to lead the strategy, financial budgeting and implementation of all technology tools and solutions that will help transform how the design, merchandising and supply chain teams bring amazing products to life in a way that brings standardization across the globe while enabling a faster go to market timeline and significant reduction in product development and per unit costs.

How You Will Make a Difference:

  1. Partner with Chief Design/Product Officers across the brands and Global Supply Chain leaders to define the technology strategy supporting VF’s entire product creation process, from concept through technical design and line planning to engagement with vendors for costing, prototyping, and ultimately delivering world-class product.
  2. Lead a global, distributed team with highly matrixed resources to understand, drive and deliver technology solutions.
  3. Develop multi-year technology roadmaps and associated program budgets.
  4. Lead cross-functional teams across a range of disciplines in the execution against technology roadmaps, delivering new tools and technology that empower the brands to create new and compelling products through visualization and other means.
  5. Drive the definition and organizational change management related to best in class and consistent design standards and practices across brands that are supported by the tools and technology being deployed.
  6. Accountable for multi-million dollar program budgets, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  7. Drive the execution of multi-year programs to roll-out technology solutions across the brands and regions building a common platform of tools that are used globally.
  8. Build out high-calibre teams to deliver and support best in-class technology solutions.
  9. Proactively research new technologies, tools and processes to drive the digital product creation technology roadmap with design, merchandising and supply chain teams.
  10. Liaison with brand leadership in development of and regular tracking against technology roadmaps and program status.
  11. Execute financial and investment portfolio activities in order to secure proper resourcing levels in your assigned product and service areas.
  12. Demonstrate executive level leadership with demonstrable ability and experience in influencing senior executives in matrixed organizations.

How you will do it:

  1. Work collaboratively with brand design and merchandising leaders to create the vision and help drive adoption of the technology your team delivers.
  2. Partner with Product Supply, Materials, Quality and other downstream corporate functions to help design and implement standardized tools and processes that support an efficient and cost effective product creation process across the enterprise.
  3. Act as a technology and change champion to drive excitement and adoption of new tools and ways of working that further move the organization to a truly digital product creation process.
  4. Provide executive level leadership and consensus building for capital investments with senior leaders across the organization.
  5. Demonstrate ability in influencing leadership and resources in matrixed organizations to drive complex multi-brand initiatives forward while harmonizing technology and processes across brands and regions.

Years of Related Professional Experience: 15+ years

Educational/ Position Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Design, or related area.
  2. 15+ years related work experience in technology management, with experience specializing in product creation and/or product lifecycle management, preferably in the footwear or apparel industry.
  3. Master’s degree is preferred.
  4. Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills are required; ability to apply systems knowledge to troubleshoot and analyse new issues is critical.
  5. Must be a self-starter, able to work independently with a proactive working style.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Experience deploying complex applications across a globally distributed organization.
  8. Experience with solution delivery and business process engineering and design at a large global manufacturer or retailer.
  9. Expert level consulting and deep understanding of design and architecture of global, high availability solutions.
  10. Ability to travel to brand locations both domestically and internationally is required.
