We are looking for a Tax Director to work for our Chicago client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the tax function and set the company’s tax policy
- Perform tax due diligence prior to acquisition transactions
- Identify opportunities and risks related to state tax nexus issues
- Capitalize on opportunities to utilize tax credits and incentives, including working with our advisors to claim the research and development credit
- Support the acquisition/integration of target entities from a tax perspective, including recommending the appropriate tax structure
- Provide overall leadership, supervision, skills assessments of team members, coordinate training, and create and deliver performance feedback to staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
- 8+ years of progressive tax experience
- Prior experience in a leadership role
- Solid analytical skills and working knowledge of IFRS and / or US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Demonstrated transformational mindset to successfully lead and continuously improve the tax compliance and reporting function at a publicly traded, US-headquartered multinational company
