What You Will Be Doing
  • Supervise, train, and mentor Tax Managers / Associates on client engagements and technical issues.
  • Identify and implement tax planning and consulting opportunities.
  • Review and manage tax returns, extensions, tax planning calculations, for all entity types with a focus on Individual.
  • Review financial statements and perform accounting and adjusting entries, bank reconciliations, and client books and records.
  • Prepare and review complex tax planning projections for individual and corporate estimated tax liability for key clients.
  • Manage client engagements from start to finish which includes planning, executing, directing and completing tax projects, managing the budget, meeting deadlines and client expectations.
  • Prepare or review complex U.S. and state individual income, gift tax, and estate tax returns.
  • Conduct complex tax research and prepare memorandum outlining findings and conclusions.
  • Respond to IRS and state agency audits, inquiries, and tax notices.
  • Communicate directly with existing clients, colleagues, management, and IRS representatives regarding various tax matters.
  • Lead department in knowledge of software, processes, and workflows.
What You Need for this Position
  • 10-15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in individual tax compliance, planning.
  • Outgoing and friendly personality, a team player.
  • Desire and ability to train, mentor/lead, and develop staff.
Preferred
  • Experience in partnership tax would be a +.
  • Experience with Trust & Estates big +.
