Job Summary and Qualifications

This position is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the liver transplant process of the programs. Main responsibilities include managing a group of employees that deliver shared support services across the Transplant Program; establishing workflows/processes which are aligned with program policies; and managing objectives and key performance metrics.

  • Responsible for the daily operations and clinical resource for transplant evaluations, waitlist management and post-transplant care.
  • Analyzes pertinent data, communicates findings, documents information and assumes accountability for decisions and actions.
  • Assists in the care coordination of the acutely ill transplant patient to facilitate communication with the transplant surgeon and other consultants as needed.
  • Monitors and evaluates daily productivity statistics in collaboration with the Director.
  • Create or assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization and nursing standards.
  • Provides leadership and demonstrates responsibility and accountability for the delivery of safe, quality, transplant care for assigned departments on a 24- hour basis.
  • Ensures department's standard of practice, policies and procedures meet compliance with UNOS, OPTN, TJC, and CMS.
  • Makes procedural or process suggestions for achieving team goals or performing team functions; provides necessary resources or helps to remove obstacles to team accomplishments.

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 2 years in the field of transplant.

LICENSURE/ CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Registered Nurse.
  • BLS Required.
