Role Description
The Technician I - Telecommunications Data Center will be responsible for assisting maintaining and optimizing the performance of our telecommunications infrastructure. This role requires an understanding of data center operations, network systems, and telecommunication protocols. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of troubleshooting and assisting in resolving complex technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
Key Duties
- Equipment Installation and Configuration: Set up and configure servers, routers, and other network hardware.
- Monitoring and Maintenance: Regularly monitor system performance and ensure optimal operation.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve hardware and network issues.
- Cabling and Infrastructure: Manage and organize network cabling.
- Documentation: Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and system updates.
- Technical Support: Assist higher-level technicians and provide basic support to end-users.
- This role typically requires basic technical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to operational protocols.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in a related field is preferred.
- Some experience in a data center or IT environment is preferred
- Basic knowledge of telecommunications and networking equipment, including routers, switches, and servers.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and performance analysis.
- Experience installing and removing network and power cabling are highly desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+) are highly desirable.
