Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Paralegal with a strong background in personal injury and litigation to join our dynamic legal team. This role involves managing case workflows, supervising support staff, and providing critical assistance to attorneys throughout the litigation process. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management:
  • Oversee all aspects of personal injury cases from intake to settlement or trial preparation.
  • Draft, file, and manage legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, motions, and subpoenas.
  • Coordinate case calendars, ensuring deadlines for filings, hearings, depositions, and mediations are met.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and mentor junior paralegals and legal assistants to ensure efficiency and compliance with procedures.
  • Assign and review work for accuracy, providing guidance and training as necessary.
  • Client & Witness Coordination:
  • Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and address inquiries throughout the legal process.
  • Coordinate witness statements, deposition schedules, and trial preparations.
  • Litigation Support:
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support attorneys in preparing for court proceedings.
  • Assist in preparing trial binders, exhibits, and settlement demand packages.
  • Liaise with opposing counsel, court personnel, and third-party vendors.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain accurate case records and manage electronic and physical case files.
  • Monitor and process lien negotiations and settlements.
  • Handle billing, expense tracking, and reporting for case-related costs.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years of paralegal experience, with a focus on personal injury and litigation.
  • Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program required.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and local/state laws.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
