This prestigious retirement plan and insurance solutions consulting firm with a proud legacy of serving entrepreneurial families and middle market institutions for over 40 years is seeking to hire a Retirement Plan Consultant with a strong 401(k) background to join its Retirement practice with a potential for equity ownership.

 

This position is responsible for prospecting, relationship management, and providing solutions for clients. Retirement Plan Consultants work closely and are supported by a team of highly seasoned investment analysts, client service professionals and administrative assistants. The selected candidate will work closely with members of the Retirement team to learn both sales and service requirements of middle market institutional retirement plan markets. This position is appropriate for the candidate who wants to play the long game of earning a book of business over time and learning how to build their own book through internal sales.

 

This position is hybrid and can be located anywhere between Philadelphia and the New York City Metro area. The benefits package includes a six figure base salary with unlimited income potential, expenses paid, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(d) with company match, STD, LTD, paid holidays, and a generous time off plan.

 

Essential Functions/Major Duties

  • Support Senior Consultants in maintaining and growing current relationships
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business prospects
  • Attend review and sales meetings with senior members of the team
  • Identify potential cross selling opportunities
  • Build relationships with centers of influence that you and the firm has
  • Understand the firm's processes to be able to accept internal client referrals
  • Support firm-wide sales through concept sharing with other consultants and providing technical expertise to team members, as necessary.

 

Specific Job Skill Requirements

  • Detailed understanding of DOL/ERISA pension plan regulations
  • Ability to effectively converse with entrepreneurial prospects/clients
  • Willingness to work with clients on their specific pension plan strategies
  • Proven ability to present and communicate complicated concepts
  • Managing meetings
  • Engaging with other team members to implement meeting follow-ups with clients, internal team members, and external advisors

Education and Experience Requirements

  • 3+ years directly related experience
  • Current (or willing to immediately attain) Series 7 & 66 FINRA registrations
  • Life, Accident, and Health Insurance license in PA preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Current or planned additional industry credentialization preferred
