Position: Chief Engineer

Location: Honolulu, HI

Pay: $95,000 to $115,000 annually

Experience:

  • 5 years of engineering experience in hotels or related industry
  • 4 years of managerial in the same or similar environment
  • Experience in handling operations operating under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) preferred

Education:

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • CPR/First Aid preferred

Staffing Solutions of Hawaii is seeking a Chief Engineer to join a growing and dynamic team


Job Description:


  • Develop clear goals, policies, and mentorship to ensure team responsibilities, processes, and decision-making powers are well-defined for goal achievement
  • Lead the Engineering department’s pivotal initiatives, making adjustments to operations to align with strategic Resort Operations goals
  • Ensure compliance with organizational, business, financial, and safety regulations, including maintaining up-to-date Emergency Preparedness and Safety Awareness Plans
  • Manage human resource practices, including recruitment, performance management, and corrective action, in partnership with HR
  • Develop onboarding schedules and team development plans to foster departmental growth and success
  • Conduct routine inspections of units and common areas to ensure QA and safety compliance
  • Monitor guest requests and complaints, coordinating with other departments to ensure excellent service and resolve issues
  • Maintain daily communication with other departments to optimize revenue while ensuring high guest satisfaction
  • Ensure a strong understanding of and compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement as it pertains to team management


Position Requirements:


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to write and speak English to comprehend and communicate job functions to engineering staff
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
