Transmission Planning Engineer
Position Overview
The Transmission Planning Engineer is responsible for analyzing and planning the electrical transmission systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role involves conducting studies, developing plans, and implementing solutions to improve transmission infrastructure and support long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct transmission system studies to assess current and future system performance.
  • Develop and evaluate transmission planning models using software tools such as ASPEN OneLiner, PowerWorld, and PSS/E.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to define transmission needs and solutions.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on system studies and recommendations for management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards in transmission planning.
  • Participate in the development of long-term transmission plans and strategies to support organizational goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license heavily preferred
  • Proficiency in transmission planning software including ASPEN OneLiner, PowerWorld, and PSS/E.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on engineering principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
