Job responsibilities:

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
  • Manage cash flow, cash management, and working capital.
  • Manage direct reports including the company Controller and Analyst.
  • Work with company Controller on monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities including amortization schedules, journal entry, expenditure approvals, etc.
  • Collaborate with company personnel on Film/TV Development, Acquisitions, Sales, Distribution, Marketing, Delivery/Servicing, and Business Affairs.
  • Manage outside CPA firms for tax filings.
  • Perform deal analysis to maximize profitability and minimize financial risks.
  • Oversee third party collection management accounts, third party reporting, and participation/royalty statement analysis.
  • Assist Chief Executive Officer with company HR including benefit administration and employee reviews. Supervise company IT and third-party consultants.
  • Monitor treasury functions to optimize cash flow.
  • Provide guidance and oversee general Finance and Accounting functions including:
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Tax management, compliance, and reporting
  • Bank Relationship Management
  • Vendor/Contractor Management
  • Perform financial, M&A, and other ad hoc analyses such as project and library valuation as required by the CEO.
  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and optimal results.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant finance/accounting entertainment experience in film sales, distribution, and entertainment
  • Experience with QuickBooks, FilmTrack, and Excel a plus
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree
