This company is seeking to strengthen its estimating department to keep pace with industry changes and the increasing demand for our services.


Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Applicants will be responsible for managing, overseeing, and executing all take-offs and quantity surveys according to company-standard procedures.
  • Request quotes for subcontractors and materials/equipment from approved vendors.
  • Prepare a comprehensive bid summary for management review, ensuring all factors align with company standards and policies.
  • Accurately prepare and submit scope letters, bid forms, and other bid documentation promptly.
  • Generate RFIs as necessary before the bidding process.
  • Participate in construction turnover meetings with the Operations Group.
  • Work independently or collaboratively when needed to complete estimates and proposals efficiently and within deadlines.


Qualifications/Requirements:


  • Demonstrated experience as an electrical estimator on substation, power plant, transmission and distribution (T&D) projects, both underground and overhead, as well as transportation projects.
  • Must possess a solid understanding of the National Electrical Code.
  • Gain an understanding of the specific requirements of the given project or program.
  • Choose appropriate metrics to generate accurate estimates.
  • Participate in regular site visits.
  • Review project documents or consult with experts to gather all necessary information.
  • Analyze collected data.
  • Conduct risk assessments.
  • Prepare detailed estimates for review by senior management.
  • Compile bid submissions for relevant parties.
  • Familiarity with ConEst is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
