Job Summary

Responsible for collecting, processing, analyzing and reporting data related to Engineering Operations. Produces complex, high-priority recurring and ad-hoc reports with the purpose of measuring progress towards goals, measuring performance against objectives and identifying improvement opportunities. Consults directly with internal and external customers. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

About the Team:

The BNOC (Business Network Operations center) is made up of all engineers that support the Comcast Enterprise Business customers. The Business customers that our team supports are the bigger customers that have their own NOCs (Network Operations Centers). We are responsible for the support of these customers for break/fix issues. The team must meet the customer expectations and SLAs (Service Level Agreements). Our team is responsible also providing the reporting that we must provide to the customers to meet contractual expectations.

What You’ll Do:
  • Determines relevancy of data and identifies alternative data sources as needed to ensure analytics requested by business owners and technical associates can be completed.
  • Analyzes large, complex data to determine actionable business insights using self-service analytics and reporting tools.
  • Strong experience with SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau. Able to create new custom reports and modify existing reports as needed using the Tableau reporting tool.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Performs research on root cause of data anomalies that are uncovered through normal course of analysis.
  • Writes complex SQL to query large data platforms such as Teradata, SQL server, Oracle and Hadoop to obtain data necessary for analysis. Combines data as needed from disparate data sources to complete analysis.
  • Follows best practices and established policies in business intelligence data analysis, maintenance, and data quality.
  • Design and develop data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to effectively communicate data insights to stake holders.
  • Produces a variety of reports, graphs, summaries, and presentations that convey analytic results and align with business needs.
  • Identify and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets to guide business decisions.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and reporting as requested by stakeholders.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For:
  • Must have a very strong knowledge of Tableau.
    • Be able to build NEW reports as needed.
    • Be able to modify current reports to meet customer expectations.
    • Be able to connect to different types of databases.
  • Must have strong SQL knowledge and how to build SQL queries.
  • Must have a very strong knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel
  • Very strong attention to details.
    • Reports must be done in a timely manner to meet the expectations of the customers.
    • Will be asked to investigate customer tickets to ensure that the tickets have the correct outage times.
    • Will be able to correct the tickets and the ticket data as needed.
    • Need to ensure all reports follow consistent formatting. (Fonts, Graphs, Ect)
  • Very strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Must communicate with the team when issues with ticketing are found.
    • Must interact with the BNOC team to ensure the accuracy of the reporting.
