Position Overview
Cambridge Associates has been partnering with sophisticated institutional and family investors to shape the global private markets investment landscape for five decades. We are a leader in private markets investing, often the first stop for new and emerging managers that are spinning out from larger firms. Our private investment group includes 120+ investment professionals situated around the globe, who are consistently seeking and assessing investment opportunities to drive returns in Cambridge Associates’ client portfolios.
The Director of Investor Relations will be a critical member of the Discretionary Private Investment Practice (DPI) at Cambridge Associates. The DPI Practice is dedicated to building portfolios and offering solutions to meet the investment objectives and needs of Cambridge Associates’ clients. In this role, the Director, will be responsible for managing existing investor relationships, and identifying and developing new relationships for Cambridge Associates’ commingled funds business. The individual will also support the growth, brand building, and strategic priorities of the DPI Practice. Effective communication (verbal, written, graphic), client relationship management, and an understanding of commingled fund offerings are critical skills to be successful in this role.
Job Responsibilities
- · Serve as the central point of contact for investors in CA’s commingled funds, the Investment Team and fund administration
- · Manage existing investor relationships, identify and develop new investor relationships to support fundraising efforts
- · Work across functions to obtain and organize information from investment, reporting and accounting teams to prepare regular CA fund communications
- · Understand and speak to each commingled fund offering, differentiating factors, and implementation approach
- · Lead and collaborate with Global Business Development (GBD) and fund administration to assess the market, develop fund strategies, support launch and fundraising activities
- · Develop marketing material and collateral to support commingled fund business in partnership with Investment Teams and GBD
- · Attend industry conferences, cultivate leads, build external network to be able to distribute DPI offerings
Qualifications:
- · A minimum of five years of relevant experience, direct IR experience in the private investment space preferred
- · Deep understanding of private markets and underlying investment strategies
- · Ability to mentor team members in the private investment space
- · Demonstrated analytical skills and strong written and oral communication skills
- · Strong customer service orientation and proven relationship-building skills
