The Opportunity:
As a senior Naval Engineer, you will apply the theories and principles of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems. Your work is the link between perceived social needs and commercial applications. You’ll provide expertise in evaluating new technologies, performing risk assessments, and improving the design of maritime systems. In this role, you’ll contribute to the direction of mission-critical solutions by evaluating, improving, and designing leading-edge naval technology. You’ll design products and machinery and implement improved ways to extract, process, and use raw materials such as petroleum and natural gas. You’ll develop new materials that both improve the performance of products and take advantage of advances in technology. You’ll analyze the impact of the products you develop or the systems you design on the environment and on the people using them. At Booz Allen, you can use your engineering expertise to develop next-generation defense tools and technology. We need your skills and expertise in naval engineering to develop creative solutions that directly impact the warfighter.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in Navy shipbuilding and defense systems
  • Ability to analyze designs through review of design artifacts
  • Ability to perform quantitative analyses
  • Ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team consisting of systems engineers, electrical and electronics engineers, acquisition professionals, and logistics and sustainment professionals to achieve program outcomes
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, such as Marine Engineering
  • Top Secret clearance

Nice If You Have:

  • 15+ years of experience in Navy shipbuilding and defense systems
  • Knowledge of DoD or DoN procedures and policies, including the DoD 5000 process
  • Knowledge of Navy acquisition processes
  • Knowledge of mechanical design standards and practices for Naval ships and systems
  • Possession of excellent written and verbal technical communication skills
  • Master’s degree in a technical discipline, such as Marine Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
