What You'll Do:As a key member of our engineering team, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Support design and construction activities for substation and transmission projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently and in accordance with industry standards.
- Assist with the preparation of detailed design plans and drawings for both new and existing infrastructure.
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for capital projects and maintenance activities, helping ensure projects stay on track financially.
- Develop bid specifications for construction, expansion, and modification of substation facilities and equipment.
- Coordinate and monitor construction activities, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
- Conduct site visits to assess project progress and assist with initial scoping.
- Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to develop civil work procedures and best practices for construction and maintenance projects.
- Contribute to asset performance analysis to forecast maintenance needs and manage ongoing facility performance.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including NERC and WECC requirements.
We’re looking for a dedicated professional with a passion for engineering and problem-solving. You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited university.
- 2–5 years of experience in civil engineering, construction, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and project management.
- Experience with AutoCAD, structural design software, and the ability to perform complex engineering calculations.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code and civil engineering as it applies to substations and transmission facilities is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills to assess drainage, geotechnical, and topographical data.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with clients.
- A proactive, organized, and detail-oriented mindset—someone who can manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
