As our Manager/Senior Manager of Data Science, you will oversee a team of data scientists and drive the development of advanced analytical solutions. You will be responsible for leveraging your technical expertise in Python, machine learning, and statistical modeling to guide projects from inception to implementation. This role requires strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, providing guidance on technical approaches, best practices, and career development.
  2. Manage end-to-end data science projects, from problem definition and data exploration to model development and deployment.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and translate them into actionable data science initiatives.
  4. Utilize Python programming skills to manipulate, analyze, and visualize complex datasets.
  5. Apply advanced machine learning and statistical modeling techniques to derive meaningful insights and predictions.
  6. Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and scalability of models through rigorous testing and validation.
  7. Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  8. Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI technologies.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  2. 7-10 years of total experience in data science, with at least 1 year of experience in a managerial or team lead role.
  3. Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in Python programming for data analysis and manipulation.
  4. Proven expertise in machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data mining techniques.
  5. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  7. Leadership qualities with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  2. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib.
  3. Previous experience in SQL.
