The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), functioning under medical direction, prescription, clinical pathway and/or protocol is responsible for establishing and achieving therapeutic goals, in the care of patients with cardiopulmonary, neurological or other organ system dysfunctions. This is accomplished through participation in formulating a patient care plan, through the appropriate collection of data, performing a clinical assessment, diagnostic measurements and/or tests, applying therapeutic interventions, and making recommendations to other health team members.

Location: Bayview Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD is now hiring Respiratory Therapist in the Pediatric Respiratory Department. (Must have recent NICU hospital experience). 

Schedule:

  • 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
  • 13 Week Contract 
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the administration of all respiratory care modalities, that include the following:- Invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation- Inhaled medication administration- Administration of medical gases- Humidity therapy- Airway management- Bronchial hygiene/airway clearance- Chest tube management (NICU Only)- Blood gas management- Intra-hospital transport
  • Responsible for rendering comprehensive assessments to patients with cardiopulmonary compromise including clinical pathways and interpreting patient data to make evidence-based recommendations for continued care.
  • Responsible for clinical patient electronic health record management including clinical documentation, billing, and hand-off.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of Associates degree required
  • Maryland Respiratory License required
  • BLS CPR required
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T.) required
  • Recent children's hospital experience is required.
  • Experience working in a Level 4 NICU is required.
