Job Summary

The purpose of the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is to participate in the creation of the strategic financial plan of the organization and provide critical business analysis for mergers and acquisitions.

Essential Functions
  1. Prepares components of the annual and long-range financial plans as well as forecasts for key stakeholders.
  2. Analyzes budget and forecast information for accuracy, reasonableness and consistency with objectives.
  3. Manages assigned FP&A staff and provides consistent support, coaching and encouragement necessary to achieve business goals.
  4. Directly or through staff, provides analytical support for management, operations, corporate departments and parent company board of directors.
  5. Analyzes and reports consolidated monthly, quarterly and annual results for operating segments and general & administrative expenses.
  6. Provides recommendations for revenue and profitability improvement.
  7. Develops priorities to improve productivity, efficiency and effectiveness.
  8. Conducts industry and competitive analyses to identify and address the company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
  9. Prepares business cases for corporate capital projects.
  10. Conducts semi-annual impairment analyses.
  11. Assesses lease disclosures for reasonableness, consistency and conformity with corporate policies.
  12. Conducts analysis and valuation of acquisition targets, due diligence, and integration of targets or divestitures in support of M&A activities.
  13. Supports M&A terms and conditions negotiations.
Reporting Relationship

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis reports directly to the Vice President, Corporate Finance.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Requires a demonstrated level of financial acumen typically achieved through the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or Finance; and 7-10 years of relevant budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and accounting experience in a large corporate environment.
  2. Requires expert level Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to create and modify pivot tables and advanced formulas.
  3. Requires in-depth knowledge of financial planning and reporting applications (e.g., Anaplan, CCH Tagetik, PeopleSoft, SAP, Hyperion, Business Objects, Adaptive/Workday, Oracle, IBM, etc.) preferred.
  4. Requires ability to manage team member(s).
  5. Requires ability to work as a part of a cross-functional team and all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Occasional travel may be required based on business needs.
