Key Responsibilities:

  1. Software Strategy Leader: Develop and implement a comprehensive software strategy that aligns with our business objectives. You’ll ensure that our software development efforts are innovative, scalable, and aligned with the future needs of the market.
  2. Architect of Innovation: Lead the design and architecture of our software products, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and maintainable. Your leadership will set the standard for our engineering excellence.
  3. Team Mentor and Leader: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of software engineers and developers. You’ll be the guiding force behind their success, helping them to grow and achieve their full potential.
  4. Process and Quality Champion: Establish and optimize software development processes that ensure the delivery of high-quality products. From Agile methodologies to DevOps practices, you’ll implement best practices that enhance productivity and quality.
  5. Technology Evangelist: Stay ahead of the curve on emerging technologies and software trends. You’ll be responsible for bringing new ideas to the table and ensuring that our technology stack is both cutting-edge and aligned with business needs.
  6. Security and Compliance Guardian: Ensure that all software products meet the highest standards of security and compliance. You’ll be the guardian of our codebase, ensuring that it’s not only powerful but also secure and reliable.
  7. Cross-Functional Collaborator: Work closely with other C-level executives, product management, and other departments to ensure that our software development aligns with overall company goals. You’ll be the bridge that connects our software vision with our broader business strategy.

Required Skills:

  • Technical Mastery: Extensive experience in software development, architecture, and engineering leadership. You should be as comfortable designing systems as you are debugging code.
  • Leadership Excellence: Proven experience leading and scaling software teams, with a track record of delivering successful, high-quality software products. You’re the kind of leader who can inspire and guide a team through complex challenges.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and implement a software strategy that aligns with business goals and anticipates future needs. You’re always thinking ahead, ensuring that our software solutions are future-proof.
  • Process Optimization: Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD. You know how to streamline processes to maximize efficiency and quality.
  • Security Expertise: Deep understanding of software security best practices. You’re committed to building secure software that can stand up to any challenge.
  • Humor: A great sense of humor, because we believe in fostering a positive, enjoyable work environment. If you can code and crack jokes, you’re a perfect fit.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience with a proven track record of leadership in software development is also valued.
  • Certifications in Agile, DevOps, or cybersecurity are a plus. If you’ve ever contributed to open-source projects or spoken at tech conferences, we want to hear about it.

Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development and engineering leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior role such as VP of Engineering or Chief Software Officer. You’ve led software teams to success and have the battle scars to prove it.
  • Proven experience in building and scaling software products in high-growth environments, particularly in industries such as SaaS, fintech, or healthtech.
  • Experience with both frontend and backend development, as well as cloud computing and microservices architecture.
