We’re looking for an editor, strong writer and content expert to pitch and create engaging digital content, collaborate with beauty pros and cover industry events.
Job Description (including, but not limited to):
- Pitch, develop & execute content: Use industry trends, analytics and creativity to create clickable articles and website content (News, how-tos, technical hair education, business and trend-focused content to better the careers and lives of hairdressers)
- Collect UGC from our social media pages and influencer tracking software to develop online articles
- Collaborate with beauty professionals: Partner with celebrity hairdressers, influencers and colorists for both trend- and technical-focused editorial and social media content
- Publish on time: Manage social media and digital posts with sharp deadlines
- Track performance: Monitor metrics to drive engagement and traffic
- Event coverage & social media storytelling: Attend professional beauty events, capturing content for Instagram Stories, Reels, TikTok and more including both real time and post-event coverage. Maintain relationships with PR, artists and clients
Remote Position with Local Events & Travel Opportunities: This position is Remote day-to-day, but involves travel to major industry events in the greater Los Angeles area and travel opportunities.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Digital Media/Marketing, English, Creative Writing or a related field
- Proficient in story-telling through social media and editorial strategies
- Experience within the pro beauty industry and/or a cosmetology license is a plus
- Ability to work on multiple projects, managing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with SEO, WordPress and Digital Content Optimization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Knowledge of current beauty trends and key industry players
