The role requires the ability to independently manage all phases of design documentation, including Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), Construction Documentation (CD), and Construction Administration (CA). Focus:

  • Creating accurate 2D and 3D drawings/models using industry-standard software.
  • Developing electrical specifications in alignment with project requirements.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving design challenges, with support from senior team members.

  • Conducting site visits to gather information and engage with clients on new and ongoing projects; occasional travel is required.
  • Performing building code analysis to ensure compliance and assist in finalizing project layouts.
  • Exploring and developing alternative design options.
  • Assessing client needs, building codes, and regulations to formulate design recommendations.
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate all aspects of the project, utilizing both in-house and external resources.
  • Producing detailed models, drawings, and specifications for electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and low voltage systems.
  • Working closely with the Electrical Engineer of Record to refine and complete production drawings.

Skill Set:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in electrical design or a related field.
  • Experience with various electrical systems, including power distribution and lighting, is highly desirable.
  • Advanced skills in Revit and proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A degree in drafting/design or electrical engineering will be considered as an alternative to direct experience.
  • Previous design experience in sectors such as food and beverage, cold storage, or warehousing is preferred.
