Position Overview
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will have a critical role in shaping the strategic direction, operations, and financial well-being of our organization. This newly envisioned leadership position will collaborate closely with the CEO to drive our financial and operational objectives while overseeing an organization with over $15 million in annual revenue. Your financial expertise will ensure our fiscal stability and operational efficacy, while also contributing to the design and analysis of innovative financial products that promote sustainable impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO to formulate and implement the organization's financial strategy.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, supervising all financial plans and budgets.
- Develop tools and systems that deliver vital financial insights to the executive team and board.
- Ensure compliance with federal grants and regulatory mandates.
- Provide financial insights and strategic guidance to senior leaders, helping them navigate the financial implications of their decisions.
- Monitor financial performance, anticipate challenges, and devise strategies for financial enhancement.
- Manage cash flow and collaborate with auditors on annual financial and regulatory matters.
- Design, enhance, and implement systems and processes across the organization to elevate efficiency and scalability.
- Oversee operational infrastructure, ensuring systems support growth and maximize impact.
- Ensure compliance of accounting and reporting systems with GAAP and governmental regulations.
- Identify opportunities for cross-functional collaboration to optimize operations.
- Lead the development and maintenance of key operational processes that contribute to overall success.
- 7-10+ years of progressive experience in senior financial and operational leadership roles (e.g., CFO, VP of Finance, VP of Operations, Director of Finance) with a robust record in managing financial health and operational efficiency.
- Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- Proven expertise in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): forecasting, budgeting, financial modeling, variance analysis, and strategic decision-making.
- Strong operational leadership experience with a history of executing strategic plans and systems for scalability and efficiency.
- Exceptional financial acumen, with proficiency in budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Familiarity with financial systems, ERPs, and HCMs.
- Demonstrated capability to lead, coach, and develop diverse, high-performing teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage complexity and drive clarity.
