The Senior Vice President of Global Insights & Analytics will oversee the full range of insights and analytics relating to consumers, clients, brands and products across the Visa enterprise. The SVP will lead a team that will serve as the “voice of the consumer” within Visa – identifying and gaining a deep understanding of changing consumer wants, needs, expectations and behaviors. In this role, you will leverage customer data to create company-wide buy-in and action – creating effective narratives from data to influence action across the organization. You will serve as a partner in innovation, identifying new ways to enhance the customer experience as well as identifying emerging needs and behaviors in value exchange (or payments).

Given the importance of the Visa brand to our business, the SVP, Global Insights & Analytics leader has primary responsibility in leveraging data, analytics and technology to understand how our brand creates and generates value for consumers, clients and other key stakeholders to the company.

Essential Functions:

  1. Lead the analysis of research data using advanced statistical techniques, data science and technology to identify trends, patterns, and insights that will guide strategic decision-making and inform key stakeholders.
  2. Consumer: providing a deep understanding of consumer wants, needs, expectations and behaviors. Developing and sharing effective narratives to motivate action across the enterprise.
  3. B2B Clients: developing and sharing insights with the B2B Marketing and Sales teams to identify opportunities for profitable growth.
  4. Product development and product usage: partner with the Product teams by analyzing data, conducting research and generating insights to uncover unmet customer needs, emerging behaviors, product usage behaviors and user experiences across the full product lifecycle.
  5. Brand: work closely with the Brand team to deepen our understanding of how our brand can connect with key stakeholders to drive commercial value for the firm. Create both category and cultural insights to inform those strategies.
  6. Media: conduct research, analyze data and develop insights to inform Visa’s content strategies across traditional media, social media and digital platforms.
  7. Marketing Services: develop revenue-generating services, programs and platforms based on proprietary analytics and insights for banks, merchants and other partners.
  8. Marketing Measurement Framework: oversee Brand Health & Strength tracker, ensure integration of Marketing metrics and KPIs across all key activities, manage the Marketing Measurement Framework.
  9. Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and competitor strategies through continuous market monitoring and intelligence gathering.
  10. Apply and integrate existing insights methodologies with evolving technologies.
  11. Display exceptional ability to communicate observations, vision, and strategic ideas with compelling rationale to influence and facilitate decision making.
  12. Manage and lead globally distributed teams, demonstrating fairness, open mindedness, morale building, and supporting others’ efforts for career growth and professional development.

The SVP, Global Insights & Analytics will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer of Visa, with a dotted line into the Chief Product & Strategy Officer. This leader will work closely and in collaboration with the Marketing Leadership Team, the Global Head of Corporate Strategy, the Global Head of CMS, and the Global Head of VAS.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. 15 or more years’ relevant work experience with a bachelor’s degree or at least 12 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/ JD/MD) or a minimum of 10 years of work experience with a PhD.
  2. World-class marketing and business leadership expertise across multiple geographies.
  3. Strong project management experience leading cross-functional teams, achieving goals on-time and on-budget.
  4. Demonstrated ability to define and successfully deliver complex projects with outstanding results—from business case development through deployment.
  5. Proficiency in dealing with large quantities of complex data and the ability to derive actionable insights from that data.
  6. A background in statistical modeling, data science, user experience measurement, marketing ROI measurement, and/or consumer digital technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 18+ years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, PhD).
  2. Recognized as a thought leader in the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve the consumer experience.
  3. Experience with AI/ML (Supervised and Unsupervised Learning), Digital Analytics/Precision Targeting, CRM/Customer LTV, Multi-Touch Attribution and Mix Optimization, Net Revenue Management, IoT Analytics, Ensemble Forecasting Models, Digital Shopper Journeys, E-commerce Analytics, and/or NLP.
  4. Must have a passion for innovation and be unafraid to find and establish new frontiers of understanding and business development.
  5. Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
