Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Director of Independent Contractor and Vendor Recruiting is responsible for leading the recruitment efforts for both the vendor contractors and 1099 Independent Contractors. This position supports 1099 Independent Contractor talent search as well as the compliant contracting of our direct and vendor technicians.  This role involves overseeing the entire Contractor recruitment process as well as vendor agreement management, managing a team of recruiters and administrative staff, to ensure the Company attracts, contracts, and retains top industry talent. The position will oversee all aspects of the recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing candidates to managing the compliance lifecycle, to support the Company's operational and service needs. This Director of Contract Recruiting will work closely with senior leadership to align recruitment strategies with organizational goals, ensure legal compliance requirements are kept, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Contractor recruitment team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Develop and implement comprehensive and innovative recruitment strategies for vendors and 1099 contractors.
  • Lead the recruitment lifecycle from sourcing to onboarding to managing compliant renewal of contracts for both vendors and 1099 Independent Contractors.
  • Oversee the vetting and onboarding processes, ensuring that all vendors and 1099 contractors meet necessary qualifications, certifications, legal, and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand the Company’s needs and tailor recruitment efforts accordingly.
  • Use data and industry trends to refine recruitment processes and strategies for both vendors and contractors.
  • Identify, source, and engage potential vendors and 1099 contractors through various channels, including industry networks, job boards, and social media.
  • Implement innovative recruitment opportunities for vendor and contractor recruitment.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified vendors and contractors for seasonal fluctuation.
  • Partner with senior leadership to understand business needs and forecast future requirements.
  • Work with internal teams to identify gaps in the network and recruit vendors and contractors to fill those needs.
  • Lead and mentor a team of recruiters and support staff focused on both vendor and 1099 contractor recruitment.
  • Set clear performance goals and develop monitoring metrics for the team and conduct regular evaluations.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the team’s capabilities in recruitment and management.
  • Track and analyze recruitment metrics to assess the effectiveness of the strategies and service providers for both vendors and contractors.
  • Use data and analytics to inform decision-making and improve recruitment processes and service providers efficiency.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on the status of the vendor network and contractor workforce, as well as expense and service provider results to senior management.
  • Oversee the Contractor recruitment budget, vendor expenses, service provider service standards, and optimize resources to achieve the best outcomes.
  • In compliance with Company legal, implement and maintain compliance and risk management strategies to mitigate potential liabilities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including department heads and external partners.
  • Work with Company legal team to update contracts and agreements, in compliance with regulatory and company policy.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • 5+ years of experience in management of Independent Contractor and vendor recruiting
  • Proven leadership experience with a track record of successfully managing a team.
  • Strong understanding of requirements related to vendor and 1099 contracting.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in vendor management software, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and other related technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive strategic decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and a commitment to maintaining the accuracy and confidentiality of financial information.

Preferences:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, or a related, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • 7+ years of experience in management of Independent Contractor and vendor recruiting


Work Schedule: 
  • Mondays through Fridays, 8:00am to 5:00pm;  hours may extend based on business operation need.
  • This position currently enjoys a hybrid schedule, in-office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with option for remote work on Monday and Friday. 
  • ‘Full-time, salary overtime exempt.

  • Work is performed indoors in a typical office environment

Physical Skills and Abilities:
 
  • Ability to stand, walk, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10 to 25 pounds
  • Ability to bend, squat, and reach above shoulders
  • Hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity including ability to grasp and operate equipment.
  • Ability to sit for 8 -12 hours per day
  • Ability to use hands and fingers
  • Ability to speak fluently in English and hear
  • Visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read technical information

Travel:
 
  • Less than 10% of the time; predominately local travel within a 30 mile radius of the Corporate Office
