Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Percussion Instructor to join our team at Big Walnut High School. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the percussion section of the marching band.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive percussion program for the marching band
• Recruit and select talented students for the percussion section
• Provide instruction and guidance to students on percussion techniques and music theory
• Collaborate with the band director and other instructors to ensure a cohesive and high-quality performance
• Attend rehearsals and performances as needed

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Music Education or related field
• Proven experience as a percussion instructor, preferably in a high school setting
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents
• Current BCI & FBI background checks and Pupil Activity Permit

Working Conditions:

This is a one-year supplemental contract position. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the band director and other instructors to ensure a high-quality performance.
