Job DescriptionJob Description

The Inventory Manager is responsible for all operational standards of the company related to inventory management and procurement. This will include developing and maintaining an adequate system of internal controls, standard operating procedures, perpetual inventory system management, physical inventory procedures and planning, and working with all operations team members to ensure consistent application of defined procedures.

This is a full-time hybrid position based in one of the following cities: Portland, OR or Seattle, WA. A flexible, hybrid working model may look like 1-2 days remotely and 3-4 days in the warehouse each week.

Salary range: $80-95k depending on applicable skills and experience.

In this role you will:

  • Designing and implementing an inventory tracking system for optimized inventory control procedures
  • Examine the levels of raw materials and supplies to determine shortages
  • Document daily shipments and deliveries to replenish inventory
  • Create detailed reports for adjustments, inventory operations and stock levels
  • Evaluating new inventory, ensuring it’s ready to ship
  • Properly order new supplies avoiding excessive surplus or inefficiencies
  • Analyze various suppliers to ensure the company is receiving the best cost-effective deals
  • Develop and implement plans to optimize physical warehouse layout and organization.
  • Recommend optimal stocking levels for each warehouse based on data analysis.
  • Hire and train new employees.

Requirements:

  • Leadership skills for hiring employees, resolving conflicts and keeping employees on task and motivated
  • Critical-thinking skills to establish action plans and routinely assess their effectiveness
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple moving pieces, people and orders
  • Problem-solving skills to anticipate problems before they happen and handle them appropriately when they do
  • 5-7 years experience in inventory or warehouse management with at least 2 years with sole responsibility of inventory or warehouse management, or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management or related discipline
  • APICS certification a plus
  • Experience working in an inventory ERP system
  • Material experience working in Inventory Management with direct experience in creating, implementing and auditing inventory procedures
  • Highly self-motivated with demonstrated time management skills
  • Experience creating and implementing inventory procedures
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, especially as it relates to Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with capability to apply judgement and logic in decision making
  • Proper business English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Able to meet deadlines, dependable and organized
  • Able to multi-task, problem-solve and adapt to change in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Able to communicate effectively with coworkers, management, and customers, and display excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Valid state issued driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to travel (up to 25%), including overnight, to company locations currently in OR, WA, ID, Northern CA
